Soldier 'shot by friendly-fire sniper', inquest told

AN ALDERSHOT soldier was shot by a sniper in a “friendly-fire” tragedy after being mistaken for a Taliban bomber, an inquest has heard.

Lance Corporal Michael Pritchard, 22, of the 4th Regiment Royal Military Police, was hit from a remote observation point by a marksman under orders not to shoot, during a dangerous mission in Afghanistan, the hearing was told.
