BAE Systems to cut fifth of Frimley workforce

NEARLY a hundred workers in Frimley face redundancy after global weapons manufacturer BAE Systems announced plans to axe 640 jobs nationwide.

The company said on Thursday that 99 posts could be lost at its Integrated System Technologies (Insyte) business on Victory Point, where 547 people work.

BAE Systems said that it was starting the redundancy process in response to a slump in the defence market.
