No cuts to festive lights

4/11/2008

The Christmas spirit will be alive and well in the town this year despite the credit crunch.

Other councils in the country have decided to cut back on festive lights, but Wokingham Town Council will proceed as normal.

It increased the lighting contract budget last January to cover the cost of storage and new lights and will spend £2,260 illuminating the town.

The Christmas lights will be switched-on on Sunday, November 30.
