- MORE than 200 people attended Guildford College’s first open evening dedicated to apprenticeships.
At the event earlier this month, they were given information on the different courses, plus the opportunity to talk to tutors and representatives from the National Apprenticeship Service.
- JUGGLING will be among the activities available to children and their families tomorrow (Saturday).
The Circus Capers afternoon will feature games and skills with food afterwards. Creche facilities will be on offer at the event at Guildford Baptist Church in Bury Fields, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

- A PUBLIC Exhibition will be held by Taylor Wimpey at the Tongham Community Centre, Poyle Road, today (Friday) from 2pm to 8pm outlining its plans to build between 50 and 65 houses on a site in Ash Green Lane West adjacent to Manor Road.
- ASH Parish Council’s planning and finance and administration meeting will take place on Monday at 6.30pm at Ash Centre, Ash Hill Road.
- COMPTON Parish Council will hold its annual Parish Meeting at the Village Club at 7pm on March 7. There will be a speaker from Watts Gallery and a presentation from Surrey Air Ambulance.

- THE Surrey branch of the Fly Dressers Guild meets at Effingham Golf Club on the second Monday of each month between September and May, usually starting at 7.30pm. The next meeting is on March 12 with guest speaker Greg Newey to talk about fishing in Slovenia. The first meeting for newcomers is free. - A FUNDRAISING evening takes place next Saturday at East Horsley Village Hall, with all proceeds to benefit the hall. Bands North of Eden and Never Too Late will play rock, soul, jazz, blues and funk covers from 7.30pm to midnight. Entry is £15 with food or £8 without.
