Brush up your building skills as the Global TECHNIC Challenge is coming to Guildford! On August 5, Enchanted Wood Toymaster, 3-5 Kings Road, Shalford, GU4 8JU, will be hosting the event where children are invited to come along to the store, use their creative skills and build a machine out of LEGO Technic that will perform an everyday task!

Store manager Hana Polcikova said: "There’ll be loads of loose TECHNIC pieces for creative kids to make a masterpiece. Whether it’s a breakfast-making machine or toothpaste-tube squeezer, the day is about getting your brain cogs whirring."

The best creation will be judged at the end of the day and then entered into the nationwide competition and November’s grand final to battle it out for the ultimate LEGO TECHNIC prize package and a chance to be featured in a TV ad on Nickelodeon.

TECHNIC demonstrators trained by LEGO will be in store to give children a hand and once each TECHNIC design is completed, one of the demonstrators will photograph it and upload the entry onto the National Schools Partnership website to be entered into the competition.

The challenge will run from 9am with the winner announced at 5pm.

We have prizes from the new TECHNIC range to give to two lucky winners. LEGO TECHNIC introduces four new construction concepts challenging the young and adult fan alike to step up to the next level of building.

Famed for its authentic life-like models, these new TECHNIC sets with Power Functions - Motorized Excavator, Mobile Crane, Container Truck, and Motorbike - are sure to have enthusiasts clamoring for them.

LEGO Power Functions is LEGO’s electronic building system. A battery box gives power to the system and with a motor connected to the plug will drive the motor in either direction when the switch is pushed to either side.

Power Functions bring LEGO models to life. Each winner will receive a Motorized Excavator (worth £139.99) and a Motorbike (£34.99).
