Win tickets to the West End musical Zorro

Zorro, the ultimate swashbuckling Latin hero, was originally the creation of pulp writer Johnston McCulley back in 1919.

As a master swordsman, while concealing his real identity of wealthy caballero Don Diego de la Vega, Zorro represents a timeless righter of wrongs and defender of the weak as he battles to free the local populace from injustice and repression.

So powerful is this character that his appeal has never waned and, over the years, Zorro has featured in comics, animated cartoons, several books, a Disney television series, a Spanish soap opera and several films, including the 2005 movie Legend of Zorro starring Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Now the legendary tale of good triumphing over evil has hit the stage in a new musical simply called Zorro.

It is based on the bestselling novel by Isabel Allende and features an exciting musical score from the world-famous Spanish group, The Gipsy Kings. Songs in the show include some of their biggest hits, such as Bamboleo, Baila Me and Djobi Djoba.

The show is directed by Christopher Renshaw, whose credits include the King and I and We will rock You, and is choreographed by renowned flamenco artist Rafael Amargo.

The new production stars Matt Rawle, Emma Williams, Adam Levy and Lesli Margherita, who will be accompanied by a cast of 23, including leading flamenco dancers from around the world.
The audience can expect to see spectacular sword fights, dramatic aerial acrobatics, colourful costumes and intriguing stage magic, all set to an infectious Latin beat as Zorro once again wins the day.

Zorro will have its London premiere at the Garrick Theatre, Charing Cross Road, on July 15, after previews from June 30, having completed a successful national tour which ran from March 4 to April 12.

Tickets cost from £20 each. Evening performances are held Monday to Saturday at 7.30pm, with matinees at 3pm on Thursdays and Saturdays.
