Stoke welcomes Raymond and Mr Timpkins Revue

YOU Must Be Stoking, the comedy gig at The Stoke, Guildford, has prepared another line-up of fine stand-ups, hand-picked for local comedygoers to enjoy on Wednesday September 7.

Headliners The Raymond and Mr Timpkins Revue are a double-act mixture of daftness, music, nonsense, satire and funny hats. They cut their teeth compering and performing in variety nights at the Wedgewood Rooms in Southsea in the 90s before London called.

They adapted their act and now tour the country, regularly headlining at Jongleurs clubs.

They have ventured as far as Oman and The Falklands to entertain the troops.

Their latest foray is into radio comedy/drama. A 1930s murder mystery based in Brighton and a retellling of the Jack the Ripper tale have already been forged in the red hot fires of their imaginations.

Opening act Helen Arney is a musical comedian based in London, performing original comic songs on the ukulele and piano. Helen is an Edinburgh Fringe favourite and has appeared at fa number of festivals.

Her current projects include a new show about a time travelling coffee shop, a collection of science-inspired songs called Geek Party and more musical collaborations with top UK comedians.

Rising star Matt Green is the compere. He regularly plays Jongleurs, Up The Creek, Banana Cabaret, The Comedy Cafe, The Frog and Bucket, XS Malarkeys, ED Comedy, Downstairs at the Kings Head, Buzz Comedy, The Comedy Network, Off the Kerb, Jesters, The Komedia, The Stand (Edinburgh & Glasgow) and many more.

Rob Thomas and Wayne The Weird, aka Wayne Shakespeare, complete the line-up. Doors open at 7.30pm and the show starts at 8pm.
