New season of entertainment
27/12/2007
Blues with Buddy Wittington, Arabic fusion with Natasha Atlas, folk from Chumbawamba, comedy with the likes of Lucy Porter and Mark Watson, plus a week crammed full of activities at the children’s festival are just some of the treats featured in the new West End Centre brochure available now.
The season has a distinctly international flavour with musicians from Martinique, Zambia, The Canary Islands and the UK teaming up on Friday, February 1, when Mankala bring their heady mix of up tempo Latin, Afro-Caribbean fusion, rock and blues, to the first of the season’s three fun dun Fridays.
Closer to home there is comedy from Richard Herring in his hilarious new show about turning 40, acoustic guitar with Nick Harper, Adrian Legg, Chris Difford and Boo Hewerdine, plus a powerful theatre show Ashes to Ashes about friendship in the unlikely setting of Birkenau concentration camp.
Central to the season is the children’s festival during February half term, crammed full of shows, pottery, African drumming and art and drama activities for the under 11s and their families.
For more details or to obtain a copy of the brochure call the box office on 01252 330040 or see www.westendcentre.co.uk
