Dorian Gray

27/12/2007

Fresh from a successful tour of Italy, European Arts Company (EAC) present The Picture of Dorian Gray at Camberley Theatre on Thursday, January 24, at 8pm.
Based on the novel by Oscar Wilde, the play tells of a young man named Dorian Gray, the subject of a painting by artist Basil Hallward, who is greatly impressed by Dorian’s physical beauty and becomes strongly infatuated with him.
Dorian comes to believe that the only thing worth pursuing in life is beauty and the fulfillment of the senses. Realising that one day his beauty will fade, he wishes that the portrait Basil has painted of him would age rather than him; however the portrait serves as a dark reminder of the effect each act and each sin has upon his soul.
Tickets cost £12, friends two for one, buy 10 for the price of nine, from the box office on 01276 707600 or from www.camberleytheatre.biz
