A taste of the new Mark Thomas comedy product

7/11/2008

Comedian, presenter, political activist and reporter Mark Thomas returns to Basingstoke to appear at The Forge on Thursday, November 13, trying out some new material as well as some of his old work in preparation for a forthcoming tour.

Thomas first came to light as a guest comic on the BBC Radio 1 comedy show The Mary Whitehouse Experience in the late 1980s, but he is probably best known for political stunts on Channel 4's The Mark Thomas Comedy Product.

Prior to this, he was the resident stand-up comic on Saturday Zoo, a Channel 4 comedy series first screened in 1993. He also presented the highly successful BBC Radio 1 talk show Loose Talk and is a founder member of the London Comedy Store’s hard-hitting Cutting Edge show.

Thomas has appeared at numerous comedy benefit nights, and is a well-established stand-up comedian in the UK. He has also written a regular column for the New Statesman since 2001.

Tickets for Mark Thomas are priced at £10. For more information or for tickets, call the Anvil Arts box office on 01256 844244, or use the Anvil Arts website www.anvilarts.org.uk or the ticket fax on 01256 366900.
