NEW statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons reveal ‘chinplants’ are one of the fastest growing cosmetic trends in the US.
But the search for a youthful jaw line doesn’t have to involve going under the knife. A new treatment, dubbed the radio frequency face lift by leading industry insiders, has recently been launched at The Light Touch in Guildford.
Intracal claims to deliver a tighter, more defined neck and jaw line in just six weeks. The unique treatment pushes heat energy into the dermis, through hair-fine needles, boosting collagen production without damaging the surface of the skin.
"As we age our skin stops producing collagen and starts to sag, which is why jowls, double chins and turkey necks become more pronounced," said Dr Natalie Blakely from the Light Touch Clinic, which is one of just three clinics in the UK to offer the innovative treatment and the only clinic outside London.
"Intracel lifts and tightens loose skin to create a more youthful profile without the down time, recuperation period and expense of surgery.’
The thought of 42 needles being inserted into your face repeatedly over a 30-minute period may sound painful but a topical anaesthetic is applied 30 minutes before and apart from a mild pricking sensation, those who have experienced the treatment say it's painless.
Unlike other similar treatments, Intracel can be used right up to the eye socket so can also help improve eye bags. It's also an alternative for those adverse to botox or fillers as it doesn't involve injecting anything into the skin.
Intracel costs £795 for a single treatment or £2,200 for a course of three treatments with Dr Natalie Blakely at the Light Touch Clinic, Surrey Tel (01483 568013).
