Temperatures are set to soar this weekend with Saturday tipped to be the hottest day of the year so far.
The mini-heatwave began on Thursday, with temperatures expected to hit a sizzling 24C on Saturday - hotter than the Greek island of Corfu, where forecasts said the thermometer would struggle to reach 18C, and warmer than holiday favourite Tenerife, which is expected to max out at 20C.
Hampshire, and the rest of the south of England, is expected to see the best of the sunshine over the weekend.
Laura Young, from the Met Office, said: "Most areas are going to be fine and dry.
"The South East and East Anglia could see temperatures around 23 and 24 degrees, with the rest of the country in the late teens, early 20s.
"There is an area of high pressure moving into the UK and we are expecting this week may herald on of the hottest days of the year so far."
April 28 stands as the hottest day of the year so far when Aviemore in Scotland hit 22C.
