A ONE-DAY conference for business women across the south-east is to be held at Potters International Hotel, Aldershot, on Thursday June 26.
‘Business Women on the Move — South-East' aims to offer invaluable support and advice on funding, sustainability and growth in today's economic climate and opportunity to join more than 250 fellow women business owners in sharing their experiences.
Recent research reveals 22% of all new business start-ups in the region are by women, the highest percentage for any region in the country, demonstrating that women in the south-east have already recognised the opportunities of being their own boss.
The conference will offer panel discussions, informative and insightful seminars and workshops focusing on key business issues such as customer relationship management; technology and cost-effective marketing.
In addition to the conference, the day will close with a cocktail reception, where delegates can network and make valuable new business contacts.
Karen Gill, director of Everywoman, said: "In order to maximise their entrepreneurial potential women must take advantage of networking opportunities, continue to develop their business skills and learn to become less risk-averse, we will bring all of these opportunities under one roof."
Guest speakers include Hampshire Business Woman of the Year, Avril Owton, proprietor of the Cloud Hotel, Brockenhurst.
She said: "Being a member of Everywoman keeps me informed of business news and gives me access to a wide variety of contacts."
The event has been recognised and embraced by both government and industry, including key sponsors IBM, Natwest and Business Link — the national business advice service provided by the government's small business service.
Peter Ibbetson, head of NatWest business banking, said: "The event provides us with an ideal platform to meet businesswomen in the south-east and discuss how our local network of business managers and advisors can help them achieve their ambitions."
The conference offers exceptional value with lunch and a complimentary pass to the cocktail party included in the price.
