A NEW general manager has been installed at County Kitchens following the takeover of the Camberley company by Sigma 3 of South Wales.

Pat Thomas, 38, was branch manager at the kitchen and bathroom company's flagship Cardiff showroom and has been with them 18 years.

Since the take-over, Sigma 3 promised to invest strongly in County Kitchens' showrooms and predicted the business will grow and create more jobs.

County, with an annual turnover of £3million, already employs 23 people at its 8,000 sq ft showroom in Camberley and smaller outlets in Guildford and Esher.

Sigma 3, a 28-year-old company with a £10m turnover, has begun manufacturing kitchens for County at its South Wales factory.

Mr Thomas, a married father of three, lives in Bridgend, South Wales, but is staying in Fleet during the week.

He said: "I can't wait to get started. There is a real synergy between our operation in South Wales and County and I am looking to develop and build on that for the future.

"My key aim is to drive the business forward using my in-depth knowledge of the kitchen business to provide excellent customer service, top quality products and unbeatable value for money."

Sigma 3 installation manager Colin Milburn has been seconded to County Kitchens for three months where he will team up with Pat Thomas in Camberley.

Brian Lakin, chairman of Sigma 3, said: "Colin will be setting up a completely new installation team to serve County Kitchens' customers in Surrey, Berkshire and Hampshire.

"Colin, who has years of installation experience, will be managing what is a crucial part of the business which stretches from initial contact with the customer through to installation and after sales service.

"We are proud of the unrivalled installation procedure we have here in South Wales and we want to see that benchmark installation service replicated at County Kitchens."
