A cat-lover found their pet decapitated outside their home leading the RSPCA to warn others to keep cats indoors
A distraught owner found their cat beheaded outside their Aldershot home this week.
The RSPCA has now warned other owners to keep their cats indoors.
The cat was left decapitated outside its home in Brockenhurst Road on October 21. Reports of other cats being mutilated have also been made, but are yet to be confirmed.
In a statement the RSPCA Hampshire and Surrey Borders Branch said: "We are advising owners of cats in the area to keep their cats indoors at night for the next few days just until we can be sure there are not going to be repeated incidents."
"This act of cruelty to a defenceless animal is particularly shocking and upsetting to hear."
Information about the crime, or reports of other acts of cruelty to animals, should be reported to the police on 101 and the RSPCA national call centre on 0300 1234 999.
