Hampshire schools close on Thursday due to strike action

Around one million teachers across the UK expected to take part in a walk-out over pay, pensions and work conditions

Many schools across the Get Hampshire region are closed on Thursday (July 10) as teachers go on strike in a row over pay, pensions and working conditions.            

The walk-out is the second national day of action organised through the National Union of Teachers (NUT), following an earlier strike in March.            

Across the UK more than one million teachers are expected to be involved, with a quarter of state schools in the country set to be closed, with many more in part-closure.           

We have listed the two affected schools in north-east Hampshire.          

HART:                         

Frogmore Community College - Partially closed                        

RUSHMOOR:                     

Henry Tyndale School - Partially closed
