ALMOST 1,000 protesters have so far signed a petition calling for a traffic lights scheme at Frimley Green to be scrapped.

Organiser Tony Eusden is delighted with the support for his campaign to stop the lights being installed at the Sturt Road railway bridge. He hopes that even more people will sign the petition before he hands it to Surrey County Council, which believes the lights would make the bridge safer for people to walk through. The petitions are in several shops and in the village as well as three pubs: Old Wheatsheaf, King's Head and Miners' Arms.
