The theft happened at Ravenswood Village in Nine Mile Ride last Saturday.

Jane Phillips, volunteer co-ordinator at Ravenswood, said: "Horse-riding for people with disabilities is very therapeutic."

The burglars broke in between 9.30pm and 10.50pm and took five saddles, four bridles, a driving harness and tools.

"Around 90 people use the horse-riding facilities here in a week, including people with disabilities from other homes .

"Horse-riding for people with disabilities is so valuable and very therapeutic. I hope we can get things up and running again as soon as possible."
