A 19-year-old Crowthorne man has been arrested following an assault in the village which left a man with head injuries.

The victim, a man in his late 20s, was walking to his car, which was parked at the rear of Don Beni's restaurant in the High Street, on Wednesday, April 30, shortly after 11pm.

He was confronted by a man who asked for a lighter but then attacked him without provocation. The offender was joined by two other men who also assaulted the victim.

The victim received lacerations and severe bruising to the head, and was treated at hospital. He was later released.
