Young bookworms at College Town Junior School in Sandhurst have been learning the delights of reading with the help of author Keith Chatfield.
The popular children's writer paid the Branksome Hill Road school a visit yesterday (Tuesday) as part of the activities put on for Arts Alive Week.
The author's visit sparked enthusiasm for creative writing thanks to his story-telling sessions and writing workshops.
Much of the children's work was recorded and played back to the whole school over their radio station.
Year Six pupils also wrote their own plays and acted them out, using the school's digital camera and video recorder to keep a record of their achievements.
Headteacher Nigel Duncan said: "The staff work very hard to bring fun ideas into the children's learning.
"Arts Alive Week is always a success and this year's emphasis on communication though writing and ICT skills has enhanced all the children's learning."
