CHILDREN from All Saints Junior School, Fleet, had a trip to Fleet Pond recently - to try out some benches.
The benches were donated to Fleet Pond Nature Reserve by local supermarket Waitrose.
It is hoped the installation of the benches will encourage office workers to visit the pond.
Waitrose Manager, Tony Waterhouse, revealed that the benches were made out of recycled carrier bags!
Fleet Pond is Hampshire's largest freshwater lake and Fleet Pond Nature Reserve is a Designated Nature Reserve and is a Site of Scientific Interest - for its reed beds and marsh habitat.
