A CAST of over 100 students from Farnborough Sixth Form College entertained packed houses at the college's Prospect Theatre with a spectacular Christmas musical production of Barnum.

The talented cast was led by 16-year-old Luke Sheppard, of Sandhurst, who played Barnum. The production made full use of the wide range of theatrical, dance and musical talents of students.

The production was directed by drama tutors David Hallen and Tom Wilson. David Hallen said: "It has been a privilege to work with such a talented group of young people who are studying an enormous range of subjects." The show was exuberant in style, with a colourful and energetic approach, leaving the audience feeling astounded by the thrill of the circus. Live music accompanied the production, from a student band directed by college tutor Caroline Lusher.

College Principal Dr John Guy said: "Contrary to popular belief, it is the new AS and A2 curriculum which has enabled such an ambitious production to be mounted so successfully. To my delight, the new A levels have resulted in an increase in extra-curricular activities at this college."
