THE Famous for Five Minutes talent show is on its way back to Camberley's Main Square.

Whatever you can do to entertain people - sing, play an instrument, dance, tell a joke, juggle, do a magic trick or play in a band - you will be welcome to take part in Famous for Five Minutes.

Originally staged as part of the Millennium Festival of the Arts, local performers, groups and audiences have asked the organisers, for the third year, to re-run the show to give more talented locals a chance to be in the spotlight.

Open to all performers, the event is designed to be a celebration of local talent; starting with performances on stage in Camberley's Main Square on bank holiday weekend, August 25-26, and finishing with a gala evening at the Arts Link Theatre in Camberley on September 15.

Camberley's former Mayor Roy Lilley, the event chairman, says: "We knew there was an enormous amount of talent in the area. Last year there were dancers, singers and groups who were great.

"Everyone involved wanted to do it again - so here we are looking for acts for this year. Everyone is welcome to take part - come and be famous for five minutes and show us what you can do."

To take part get your entry form from MacDonald's Music, Park Street, Camberley. Their phone number is 01276 21295, or contact the organiser, Barry Buckingham, on 01237 621295
