AN Aldershot woman is hoping Mail readers will come forward with a venue where she can sit in a bath of baked beans to raise money for charity.

Jenny Kinghorn, 47, of Kingsway, is holding the stunt in aid of Action Research.

The money raised will ensure her place on a trek through Peru and raise £2,500 for the charity.

A number of events, such as quiz nights and raffles, have already been held, raising £2,000 but time is running out to reach the target figure.

Jenny said: “If I don’t raise the money, I won’t go to Peru although the charity will still get the money I’ve raised so far.

“I did have a venue arranged but that has fallen through, so I’m hoping someone else out there will be able to help.

“The beans are being provided by Booker’s Cash and Carry and I’ve got a bath. I’m willing to sit there for as long as is needed to raise the money.”

Jenny, who has already paid £250 for her place on the trek, has fought off cancer twice herself and says she is determined to succeed in this latest challenge.

“This charity covers so many different people with all sorts of different illnesses, so it feels like I am helping not just one section of people but a number of groups with different difficulties,” she said.
