St Michael's Infant School in Aldershot held a black and white day to raise funds for Frimley Park Hospital's proposed Children's Accident and Emergency Unit.

The children dressed up in black and white in honour of the appeal's mascot, a panda, and the day raised £178.

The new children's unit will include monitoring equipment as well as a play area, baby facilities, treatment rooms and a family room.

So far the appeal has raised about £40,000, much of it from schools. The Government has chipped in £250,000, but the appeal still has over £100,000 to raise. The next big fundraiser for the appeal is this Saturday (April 27) at Lakeside Country Club, when local doctors will be strumming their guitars and providing the music for a gala evening.

Pictured with some of the children are charge nurse Keith Adams and staff nurse Gillian Rooney.
