THE Coffee Spot at Sandhurst's Memorial Park reopened last week under new proprietors.

Residents had feared the popular café would close after the town council announced plans to incorporate it into a proposed youth centre.

But doubts about its future were laid to rest when a new licence was signed in January.

Guests at the reopening included Sandhurst mayor Audrey Shepard and Crowthorne and Sandhurst MP Andrew MacKay.

The new operators are Jennie Wigley and Jon Gooda, and Mrs Wigley said: "Both Jon and I are very pleased to be taking over and hope customers will enjoy the new menu."

Opening hours are Monday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm, with extended hours for special events at the Memorial Park.

They also cater for Birthdays and special occasions.
