A DRIVE-BY mugger was left holding nothing but a bag strap when he tried to rob a woman in a supermarket car park at Frimley.

He made a grab for the victim's shoulder bag as he pulled alongside her outside Waitrose in the High Street on Wednesday last week.

But the strap snapped as the 56-year-old woman struggled to get away, leaving her clutching hold of the bag.

The villain, who was driving a grubby looking white F-reg Ford Escort or Nova, is described as white, aged 18-25, and of medium build.

He had reddish brown hair and was wearing a light coloured top.
