PRETTY Charlotte Georgina Keen took centre stage when she was crowned this year's Fleet Carnival Princess.

The 12-year-old Court Moor School pupil was picked from 82 hopefuls during the annual selection disco at Crookham Memorial Hall.

And Natasha Startup, 11, and Yasmin Scares, eight, were dancing with delight when they were chosen as princess attendants.

The trio caught the eye of the judges during the disco, which was presided over by master of ceremonies Rod Stean.

Last year's princess and her attendants crowned the royalty for the carnival, which takes place from July 9-15.

The girls were also presented with their sashes and handed bouquets.

They are now looking forward to a busy year opening fetes and attending carnival events.

And this year's theme of "Kings and Queens, Real or Imaginary" will allow them to revel in the role.

Princess Charlotte, a keen horse rider, has lived in Fleet all her life.

Her favourite school subject is Spanish, she enjoys shopping and she likes the bands Blue and Oasis.

Natasha attends All Saints Junior School where her favourite subject is mathematics. She would like to be an accountant when she leaves school and her hobbies are gymnastics and netball.

Yasmin is a pupil at Crookham Junior School. She likes mathematics and music and would like to be a beautician.
