CCTV images released after nightclub assault

Police want to speak to this man in relation to an assault in Jaxx nightclub

Detectives investigating an unprovoked attack at a Fleet nightclub which left a man with a broken jaw have released CCTV images.

The assault happened on Friday June 20 between 12.40am and 12.45am in the smoking area at the Jaxx venue in Upper Street.

When asked by a man he had never met for a cigarette and lighter, the 21-year-old victim told him he had neither.

The victim was then hit in the face causing him to fall onto the pavement.

He suffered a broken jaw, requiring surgery, and remained in hospital several days after the attack.

Detective Constable Sue Champion at Aldershot police station said: "We would like to speak to the man captured in the CCTV images as we believe he may be able to assist with our investigation.

"This was an unprovoked attack which has left a young man in hospital with a serious injury. If anyone witnessed the assault or recognises this man then I would urge them to contact police."
