TWO cars were struck last Saturday by bricks thrown by children from an M3 motorway bridge at Camberley.

Police said the occupants of the cars, both Ford Mondeos, were extremely fortunate to have escaped unhurt.

One of the cars sustained a cracked windscreen, and the other a smashed sunroof, as a result of the attack.

Witnesses have reported seeing three boys, all aged about 12, throwing bricks at westbound traffic near the Camberley turn-off.

Judy Williams, Camberley police press officer, described the incident as a "very dangerous prank".

She said if either driver had lost control, the incident could have led to a very serious road accident.

Police are anxious to hear from anyone who was in the area, between junctions three and four, at about 1.30pm last Saturday when the boys were on the bridge.

Witnesses should contact PC Jacki Bennington at Camberley police station on 01276 27131.

Call can also be made anonymously and free of charge to Surrey Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
