TWO Yateley School pupils are receiving Diana, Princess of Wales, Memorial Awards for their outstanding contribution to the community.
Becky Besant and Connie Cole have been chosen for their commitment and work in the field of drama.
Becky and Connie have been volunteers for over six months at Centre Act, a drama club for children with learning disabilities.
The club meets every Tuesday at the Yateley Centre. They were nominated for the award because not only have they broken down their own barriers in terms of working with children with learning disabilities, but they have also influenced others to do the same. Bonnie and Becky found the work rewarding and they enjoy spending their time with the children, looking at various aspects of drama and performance.
Each secondary school in the United Kingdom can annually nominate one student or group of students for the award.
