TV presenter Dominic Littlewood visited Fleet to film another episode of the show with resident Amanda Goldthorpe-Hall, who is helping to stage Dick Whittington
Cowboy Builders star Dominic Littlewood has returned to Fleet to film another episode of his hit Channel 5 TV show.
He filmed inside The Harlington and at a couple of other locations in Fleet for a new series, to be screened next year.
The visit was prompted by a story previously run on the programme, fronted by Littlewood and Melinda Messenger, where Fleet resident Amanda Goldthorpe-Hall was left with a wrecked home by a builder. Littlewood was in town to see how the resident has coped since the experience.
Amanda is a West End actress who is starring alongside Jeremy Edwards and Layton Williams in Fleet’s first professional pantomime, Dick Whittington, this year.
“For a time, after this builder wrecked our home, we thought we’d never be able to fix it or get over the way he had left us feeling,” she said.
“If it hadn’t been for the people of Fleet, that may well have been the case, but friends, neighbours, local people and businesses all either gave their time, expertise or donated materials and items so that our house could be put back together.
Amanda said helping stage Fleet’s first professional pantomime was her way of thanking those who helped her. She approached Alex Robins, the manager of The Harlington, who said he had always wanted to bring a professional panto to the venue.
“Here we are now, two-and-a-half months away from our gala opening night with a show that is going to be out of this world,” said Amanda.
