The dancers from the Dunlop Academy of Irish Dance have tripped their way to the Pat Devereaux award for their contribution to the arts.

The award has been presented annually to Rushmoor artists since 1996 when Coun. Pat Devereux was the borough's mayor.

Said Coun. Pat: I chose the academy in recognition of the years the school has been part of people's lives. They were crowned All England and Great Britain Irish Dance Champions in the years 2000 and 2001."

The award was presented by Coun. Pat, pictured above with Lynnn Dunlop, at the Mayor's charity concert at the Prince's Hall.

The dancing school is based at the Aldershot Community Centre and teaches children from four years through to adulkts. Traditional step dancing and Irish Ceili dancing is taught.For details contact Lynn Dunlop on 01252 326223.
