A Crowthorne-based charity raised £32,000 at its annual charity dinner with help from celebrities Anthea Turner and husband Grant Bovey.
DEBRA, which helps sufferers of a rare genetic skin disease, held the event at the Dorchester Hotel in London on Tuesday last week.
Tickets cost £165 a head and thousands of pounds were raised by an auction and raffle.
Ms Turner, who is a strong supporter of DEBRA, drew the raffle and her husband, who had bought £100 worth of raffle tickets, won two return air tickets to Los Angeles.
He immediately wrote a cheque for £1,000 as a gesture and has since denied
allegations in the national press that the raffle was a fix.
John Taylorson, director of special events for DEBRA, said: "We are fortunate and grateful to have Anthea as a supporter."
