ONCE again Surrey Heath Council has begun to consult the public about proposals to develop its land west of Park Street in Camberley. The saga of "the most expensive car park in Europe" has dragged on since the late Eighties and now the latest ideas are being shown in an exhibition.

The show will be in Unit 73 next to Contessa in Obelisk Way, Camberley, until April 14. It then spends two days at West End and four at Bagshot before appearing at Frimley Community Centre from April 22-23. It then returns to the Council Offices in Camberley from April 24 until May 4.

A decision on what Surrey Heath claims are "four exciting proposals" for the land will be taken on June 19.

Said Council Leader, Coun. Moira Gibson: "Members of the public can view the exhibition, read about the schemes and comment openly about what they like and don't like to an independent market research firm.

"Councillors will carefully consider what the public says. It is not just about picking an ‘off the shelf' scheme -we want a tailored solution that best meets the needs of Camberley over the longer term."
