AN ALDERSHOT couple marked 60 years of marriage when they celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.

Ivor and Kathleen Goff have lived at Hillview Lodge, Aldershot, for the past seven and a half years.

Ivor, 90, met Kathleen, 87, in Windsor, where she worked as a secretary. But after they were married Ivor was called up to serve in the Royal Navy, where he served on various submarines.

Kathleen and Ivor's first child, Ian, was born in 1944 during a doodlebug raid over Windsor.

After Ian was born Kathleen gave up work and the family lived in Slough where Ivor worked for ICI. Their daughter Eileen was born in 1951.

Eileen said: "It's a wonderful achievement and despite not being in the best of health in the last few years they have always remained very positive and cheerful."
