THE Red Devils dropped in on Aldershot on Saturday as the town celebrated the Queen's golden jubilee.

The world-famous parachute display team was one of the main attractions at a joint Army and civilian extravaganza on Queens Parade.

The Red Devils, comprising members of the Parachute Regiment, was one of two parachute teams that wowed the crowds.

The second was the Spitfire Tigers of the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment.

An estimated 7,000 people turned up to the seven-hour event, which also saw soldiers taking part in a drill demonstration and staging a mock attack and ambush.

Other attractions included dance and band displays.

The event was brought to a close with a gun salute from 7 Parachute Regiment, Royal Horse Artillery.
