POLICE raided addresses in Aldershot and Ash and arrested several people, two from Farnborough, in a massive drugs-busting opera-tion across the south last Wednesday.
More than £2million worth of ecstasy, cocaine and cannabis was seized and 22 people arrested in raids on 37 addresses across Surrey, Hampshire, the Thames Valley and London.
Supt Mike Day said the Budokan gym in Burrell Road, Frimley, had been used by a number of those arrested. It remained sealed off as this newspaper went to press.
It was part of a massive operation involving 330 Surrey police officers.
Around 200,000 ecstasy tablets, worth an estimated £2m, were seized from one address in Byfleet.
Police believe this is the largest haul ever recovered in the county.
Supt Day said the seizures were a major success in the crackdown on the supply of Class A drugs.
A significant amount of the drug market had been removed.
The arrests were the result of police intelligence exercise, dubbed Operation Sculpture that centred on the gym.
A suspected cannabis factory and an ecstasy ‘pill-press’ were also seized from an address in Ash, along with a loaded sawn-off shotgun, gas gun and a stun gun.
Police say they also found 125kg of cannabis resin with a street value of £100,000, 3kg of cocaine valued at £60,000 and 15 large bags of ‘skunk’ cannabis, worth £30,000 at the premises in Ash.
Cash running into tens of thousands of pounds was also discovered there, they said.
Two handguns and ammunition were found in the raids and nine high-performance vehicles, inclu-ding a Porsche, BMW and Lexus, believed to have been stolen from the Surrey Heath area, were impounded.
On Friday, six people, including a policeman, appeared before Woking magistrates.
