TWO employees at an Aldershot company retired in style at the weekend, when they were whisked off to a party in their honour in a helicopter.

Harry Pain and Peter Morris were treated like royalty after a combined 54 years of service at the Hampshire Tile Warehouse in Holly Bush Lane.

They enjoyed a whirlwind trip from Hindhead to Farnham Golf Course, in Surrey, on Friday night, where friends and family awaited their arrival.

Harry, 63, said: "It was a complete surprise.

"We arrived at the Lythe Hill Hotel in Hindhead and I thought we were just going to have a quick drink.

"But then we went outside and I suddenly saw a helicopter in the distance. I had no idea."

The 25 minute trip took the pair over Peter's home in Hindhead and across the Hogs Back, and included a bird's eye view of Harry's Guildford home.

The celebrations continued at the golf course where work colleagues past and present gave the men a fitting send off.

Harry added: "It was a really superb evening.

"Everything that they organised was first class.

"I think most people knew what was going on but they managed to bottle it up.

"I will never forget it."
