A FAMILY of four escaped unhurt from a blazing house at Aldershot on Tuesday afternoon.
They fled after discovering the fire in a bedroom at their terraced home in Cavendish Road.
Eight Rushmoor fire fighters spent about 90 minutes tackling the blaze which wrecked the bedroom and caused severe smoke damage to the rest of the upstairs.
The cause of the fire, which started in a mattress, is a mystery. "We couldn't find any evidence of matches or lighters in the room," said a senior fire officer.
It is understood the family - two adults and two children aged two and four - spent the night with friends.
