Police motorcyclist hurt in crash with car in Farnborough

A police motorbike - with its lights and siren on, according to an eyewitness - was in collision with a car on Sunday afternoon

A police motorcyclist suffered an injured arm following a crash next to the Farnborough International Airshow site on Sunday (July 20).

The officer was involved in a two-vehicle smash at the junction of the Meadowsgate Roundabout with Elles Road - right at Farnborough Airport's boundary - just after midday.

Hampshire Constabulary said the rider's police motorbike was in collision with a BMW 1 Series car.

The motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to Frimley Park Hospital with an injury to his arm.

The driver of the BMW, a 28-year-old man from Yateley, was also taken to hospital.

An eyewitness reported that the collision sent the police motorcyclist hurtling over the car.

Road closures were in place following the incident and the road was reopened just after 4pm.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Sergeant Adrienne Jerram from the Roads Policing Unit at Eastleigh police station by calling 101 and quoting Operation Cornwallis.
