OBJECTORS are celebrating after a scheme to build 18 flats was thrown out by Rushmoor Council planners.
Eighteen residents submitted letters protesting at the blueprint for the site in Sherborne Road, Farnborough.
They gave 12 reasons for opposing the scheme, including lack of car parking and sewage problems in the area.
The headmaster of South Farnborough Infants' School also opposed the application by Silverley Homes Ltd.
Council planning officers said in a report that, in their view, the proposed development was acceptable and should be given the green light.
But members of the development control committee disagreed, and voted by seven votes to six to turn down the application.
