Surrey's VI team will use Fernhill school to train this winter
Farnborough is set to host winter training for an all new visually impaired (VI) sports club.
Surrey’s VI cricket team has announced it will practice at Fernhill School in Neville Duke Road from November 9 to March 22.
The team, based permanently at nearby Frimley Cricket Club, have just wound down from a string of competitive matches and are aiming to build a squad ready for next season’s Blind Cricket England and Wales League.
Sessions are held between 10am and midday, are free of charge and open to anyone aged 12 or over – no experience of the game is required and the team accommodates all levels of impairment from B1 to B4.
Team manager Gary Dunford added the winter training would be led by experienced VI cricket coach Mark Allen, who has worked at both county and international level.
