The Light Up A Life tree in Farnborough's Princes Mead shopping centre raised £4,760 for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.

Many shoppers who made a donation also signed the book of remembrance in memory of loved ones.

Said Claire Walker, fundraiser for the hospice: "Everyone was touched by the idea of having this tree in Farnborough. I wish to thank all those who gave so generously and in particular all the volunteers who manned the stand for five weeks."

The tree is to become an annual fixture in the centre.

Anyone wishing to view the remembrance book should contact Claire at the hospice on 01252 729433.
