Tributes paid to Farnborough man killed when his vehicle collided with an HGV near Winchester
A 'desperately missed' Farnborough man who was killed in a crash between his 4x4 and a lorry last week has been described as selfless by his family.
Alexander Ridge, of Union Street, died aged 40 when the Dodge Nitro he was driving collided with a DAF HGV at the junction of the A303 and A30 at Bullington Cross, near Winchester, on Thursday morning (September 5).
He was pronounced dead at the scene, while the lorry driver, a 42-year-old man from the West Midlands, was unhurt.
A statement from Mr Ridge's family said he would be remembered as a 'wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle'.
It read: "He had an amazing ability to see the best in everyone and always tried to help anyone in need.
"He will be desperately missed by his whole family and all his many friends.”
