FIFTEEN protesters face defeat in their fight over a scheme to build eight flats on the site of a bungalow at Crawley Hill, Camberley.

They listed their concerns in letters to Surrey Heath Council planners who are considering the application to demolish the bungalow and replace it with a three-storey apartment block.

The residents' objections cover a range of issues including overdevelopment, environmental damage and loss of privacy for five adjoining homes.

But the council's planning applications committee is being recommended to give the scheme the green light provided the developers, Ridgemount Homes Ltd., agree to pay a £5000 "sweetener" for traffic calming measures in Crawley Hill.

The committee will make a final decision at its August meeting.
