ADDRESSES at Ash and Fleet were among premises raided by more than 250 officers in a crackdown on hard drugs on Tuesday morning. A total of 22 people were arrested of whom 18 are suspected of supplying crack cocaine and heroin.
Operation Zoom was carried out after police intelligence revealed a steady increase in the availability of crack cocaine in West Surrey.
West Surrey's Det-Chief Insp. John Bolshier commented: "Today we sent out a clear message to drug dealers in Waverley and Guildford that they will not be tolerated. We are targeting the drug dealers and if we take them off the streets we reduce the supply of illegal drugs and we reduce crime."
He appealed for members of the public with information about drugs to contact the police or ring Surrey Crimestoppers anonymously and free of charge on 0800 555 111.
