THE Fleet and District Art Society is breaking new ground this year.
The traditional Spring exhibition at the Harlington Centre is being replaced by "Spring into Art".
Not only will this be a bigger and more varied exhibition of paintings, pottery, sculpture, glass, etc, but the artists will be there and visitors will be able to watch them at work. Members of the public will have opportunities to try their hand at drawing and painting, with help from the members of the society.
Brian Fox, chairman, said: "This promises to be an exciting event and I think people will have a lot of fun."
"Spring into Art" will take place at the Harlington Centre, Fleet, from noon until 6pm on Friday, April 5, and from 9.30am until 6pm on Saturday, April 6. The event will help the Fleet Hospital, too. Ten per cent of artwork sale prices will be donated to the Friends of Fleet Hospital and will go towards helping to equip the new vascular unit which is opening there.
