AMATEUR photographer Gerry Hirst got a golden surprise when he opened the envelope containing his latest flower studies. For he found that he had won a DVD player in a ‘lucky dip' promotion run by Fujifilm Image Service lab in Fleet Road, Fleet.

Lab boss Chris Lewis said that all customers using the Fuji express service during a two month period had the chance to win a prize. Gold envelopes were placed at random in empty wallets and as the work came through the machines a winning wallet would be filled with a customer's shots.

Gerry, who is 70 and lives in Elvetham Road, Fleet said that it was the first time he had won anything in a draw. Other prizes on offer included a sports watch, a rucksack and a camera.
