Fleet Morning Towns-women’s Guild members are flying high after handing over a bumper payout to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
The guild was delighted to present a cheque for £2,874.61 to the life-saving service during a meeting in The Harlington in Fleet.
Members raised the cash by a variety of means, including holding a summer lunch last year to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the guild’s popular annual garden party.
Guild member Edna Millington proposed to colleagues raising money for the service as it saves many lives each year with its ability to get patients to hospital in the shortest possible time.
The cheque was presented to the air ambulance service by Mrs Millington, guild treasurer Sue Fielding, Jubilee lunch organiser Pat Coleman and guild chairman Pam Howard.
The guild meets on the first Wednesday of the month from 10.30am to 1pm.
